Steve Fung – Director/Chief Executive Officer
Steve, being the Director and CEO of GTS is responsible for the Company’s overall management, strategic planning and development. He has over 25 years of management experience in the travel industry, having worked with some established public listed travel companies both in Hong Kong and Singapore.
Steve was an Executive Director of the Hong Kong Association of Chinese Travel Organizers Limited from 2000 to 2005, an executive member of various sub-committees of the Travel Industry Council of Hong Kong from 1996 to 2006, advisory board member for the associate degree program for the Tourism of Hong Kong Institute of Continuing Education in 2003 and an ordinary member of the Society of Incentive Travel Executive, USA since 1990.
In 2010, Steve was awarded the prestigious APEA 2010 Most Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award Singapore which is a world class award recognising and honouring business leaders who have shown outstanding performance and tenacity in developing successful businesses within the Asia Pacific Region.
Over the years, Steve has gone through many good and bad times in the trade and has anchored a passion in his blood to build a successful global group of travel companies in Asia Pacific. He shares his visions with all shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers and other stakeholders through committee to deliver uncompromised quality travel experience which exceeds expectation at all times.
Belinda Orsini - General Manager
After completing her diploma in Travel & Tourism, Belinda commenced her first travel job as an inbound consultant predominately looking after Europeans travelers and providing “meet & greet” services for the French and Italians. Following that, next position was in wholesale followed by retail and then finally corporate.
Belinda reached her goal back in 2000, opening her own retail travel agency for a few years before expanding out to "work from home franchises".
After a small break from the Travel agency, Belinda worked for an airline but somehow found her way to an agency. Belinda joined GTS as a Corporate Consultant, now is responsible for the service delivery from our domestic and international consultants at GTS, but is still very much hands on, which we feel is a great asset to the company and our clients.
Not only does Belinda pride herself in having exceptional customer service ethics, she believes that building strong relationships with her clients can only strenghten the loyalty and trust that is gained over time.
Belinda is best described as a self motivator, likes to share her techniques and skills and pays attention to detail, always having a “Can Do Attitude” .
With her continued passion for travel, there will always be a destination that has not been reached with so much to learn and explore.
Thus she believes "the day I stop learning, is the day I die"
CARMELA PEREIRA – Branch Centre Manager, Mirrabooka
Carmela has been in the travel industry since 1978. She has been in the Mirrabooka branch for over 13 years with the last 9 years as manager.In that time the agency has more than doubled its turnover and number of staff.
She has travelled extensively including United States, Canada,UK, Middle East, Peru, South East Asia and many cities in Australia.One of her favourite countries is Egypt and favourite city is New York. Mirrabooka is located in a very unique area where clients of many cultures frequent the office. It is this cultural diversity that Carmela thrives on and she feels honoured that she has gained the trust of many of these clients.
Carmela is one of Perth’s leading travel consultants with a large and loyal personal following that keeps growing with constant referrals. it is therefore not surprising that she has been the recipient of many travel industry awards in Western Australia. Her aim is to provide her clients with the best holiday experience possible.
VANESSA KING – Branch Centre Manager, West Perth
Hi, my name is Vanessa and I am the new Centre Manager at the West Perth Office. My travel career started in England after completing a BTEC Diploma in Travel & Tourism Management. I knew then I had a passion for Travel.
20 Years on and I have been lucky enough to have worked for most of the major global corporate Travel companies . Most of my management skills were learnt from my time working for American Express Business travel in London. My expertise in business travel ,fare knowledge has enabled me to work on some very interesting travel accounts from the Entertainment industry to high profile VIP travel.
I have travelled extensively from Gretna Green to Kathmandu, some of my highlights would be Botswana ,Kauai and always my favourite city London. I am looking forward to developing the business at the West Perth Office and to continue the exceptional service that GTS Travel provide to their clients.
Gregory Ashe -Business Development Manager, Sydney
I have been involved with the travel and Hospitality industry for the last 15 years and started with Travelworld in retail sales and moved on to Franchise development and account management with the organisation. From there I moved into Wholesale travel and then onto Business development in Corporate Travel and Incentives. I also have some experience in developing member benefit schemes and Award nights for various companies. I have extensive experience in negotiating skills and sales development and have become a more rounded businessman as a result.
My role at GTS is an exciting one as the industry is very competitive and the dynamics of the industry mean we have to have a competitive edge in order to gain market share.
My travel experience has been to most parts of the world and particularly admire the American business culture and their service levels.
I am passionate about the travel industry and the major players involved within the industry .I have become well connected with other industry professionals in the industry which gives you a different perspective in Business development.
Jillian Zhuo - Domestic Business Travel Consultant, Sydney
Jillian has benefited from a university education in both Australia and China and has always wanted to get into the selling side of the travel industry and she has found her niche here at GTS travel. Currently Jillian handles many of our domestic clients bookings whist she undertakes a course in travel & tourism and receives in house training on international ticketing and leisure products.
One of the reasons we were so keen to take Jillian on is that she is fluent in both Cantonese and Mandarin....as well as English of course.
As we are part of a large predominately Asian Travel group, Jillian will also be tasked eventually with handling inbound operations from the myriad of travel companies that make up the group and send many leisure clients to Australia.
Kathryn Maynard – Senior Travel Consultant, Sydney
Kathryn’s fares expertise and her ability to develop a strong relationship with her clients has ensured GTS has retained those clients over many years.
Kathryn came to us after 12 years with Amex Travel, Kathryn looks after a selection of leading corporate clients, she is very particular in her itinerary skills and makes sure her clients have a unique travel experience.
Meliza Tanzania - Cruise & Retail Travel Consultant, Sydney
Meliza started her education in Economics and Commerce. Her love for travelling leads her to finally completing her bachelor degree in Business majoring in International Tourism. Meliza careers take off at cruising industry as Sales Consultant where her main task is to maintain the company high standard of service and ensuring customer satisfaction. Cruise wholesaler company saw her potential and took her in to be their Cruise Consultant. At her last place of employment, Meliza liaise with suppliers and contract representatives, to gain the best cruising deal possible for her client. Her accuracy, attention to detail and her ability to resolve customer queries made her one of cruising industry favorable consultant and one that GTS is proud to have as their ambassador whom will benefit not only the company but also our clients. Meliza outgoing attitude with extra burst of energy joined GTS as a Cruise and Retail consultant. She brought with her, her personal Asian world travelling knowledge and experience. She will continually grow and will keep her goal to explore the world. She flourish with every challenge that is placed upon her and looking forward to increasing GTS standard of customer service and ensuring each customer’s travel is one that they will cherish and never forget.
Nick Giannaras – Manager Groups, Conventions & Incentives, Sydney
Nick Giannaras has 18 years experience in the travel industry and 15 years organising conferences and incentive groups within Australia and Worldwide.
He has travelled extensively escorting groups of between 10-1200 persons to destinations throughout Australia, Asia, Europe, Africa, South and North America.
Nick has a passion for travel and this is evident when you meet him to discuss your future conference or incentive destination.
His attention to detail is impeccable and his knowledge of the best ‘travel spots’ on every continent is second to one.
Nick is also responsible for bringing together our exclusive small group departures to Africa, Middle East and South America. These tours are fully escorted ex Australia by Nick or one of our own staff.
Sally Schramko - Senior Travel Consultant, , Sydney-Home
Sally was born with a passion for travel has joined GTS this year with over 17 years experience in the Travel Industry. Most of which specialising in retail and corporate travel as a hands on Manager / Consultant for a fellow American Express agency group. Sally has also spent time in other areas of the industry working in several popular Club Med villages, at Qantas as a fares & ticketing specialist and also time at Cruiseco a consortium of cruise specialist agencies of which GTS Travel is a valued member.
After a short break to start a family, Sally was most recently working at another boutique Travelscene office with a corporate following, whilst building a strong leisure and American Express cardholder clientele, many of which were redeeming their American Express reward points for travel. Another great service GTS Travel offer!
Sally is passionate about sharing her extensive travel experiences and knowledge of the industry with both clients and colleagues and enjoys keeping up with state of the art technology, which not only gives her access to the best travel deals available but also the knowledge to ensure you are getting great VALUE for money. Let’s face it with so many different ways to book your travel nowadays it’s important to know where you can put your trust!
Sally looks after her clients travel bookings as if they were her own, and as a local resident of Artarmon is excited so many of her previous clients have followed her to GTS Travel Management.
Debbie Fraser – Travel Consultant, Mirrabooka
Debbie works in our Mirrabooka Office in Western Australia. She moved from the UK in 2000 and retrained at College for her Certificate in Travel and Tourism. She had worked at several Agencies in and around Perth before moving to our Mirrabooka Office in 2006.
Prior to her move to Australia she worked as a Long Haul Cabin Crew member for 14 Years out of Heathrow. She has travelled extensively around the world and has gained a good Knowledge of routings, cities and cultures.
She loves working in the Mirrabooka Office with the huge multicultural range of clients that come through the door and believes in offering them the best customer service possible.
KELLY MUNYARD - SENIOR TRAVEL CONSULTANT, Mirrabooka
Kelly is based in our Mirrabooka store and has been working in the travel industry for 14 years. Over that time she has worked in many different roles in four different agencies and has now been in the GTS Mirrabooka store since 2007.
She has travelled extensively including South Africa, China, Canada, United States, UK, Europe and many parts of South East Asia just to name a select few. Kelly’s favourite place would have to be Turkey and one of her favourite memories would be shopping in the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul and standing on the beach at Gallipoli.
Kelly really loves the diversity and vibrancy of the clientele that walks through the doors of the Mirrabooka store.
Kelly has built strong relationships with her clients who have followed her over the years and looks forward to building many new ones. She is very attentive to detail which in travel is very important. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge and expertise with you and discussing your travel needs soon.
Mefta Page – Travel Consultant , Mirrabooka
Mefta has worked for GTS Travel Management for the last 4 years. She has the ability to develop a strongand friendly relationship to all her clients and has maintained most of the clients over the years.
She has experience in travel from her previous job and strong customer service background through her banking experience in dealing with different client and culture when she was in Personal Banking and Marketing Department. She is also very fluent in Indonesian and Malay languages and of course English too.
She has travelled extensively to the Asian and Pacific Region and other part of the world inclusive of Fiji.Her favourite memorable place is visiting the Magnificent Scenery of Halong Bay in Vietnam. With her knowledge and expertise, she is looking forward to share with all her loyal, present and future clients to continue to deliver good tips to places of interest through Cruising , Leisure and Tour packages in Asia, USA, Europe, Africa , Middle East and Domestic. Nicole Barnes – Travel Consultant, Mirrabooka
Nicole commenced her career in travel in 2005, and over the years has developed a good knowledge of destinations through her own travels and feedback from clients.
Nicole’s travels have taken her to Bali, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mauritius and travelled extensively over Europe and the U.K. for 6 months.
Nicole’s willingness to assist clients and fellow staff is a credit to her dedication to her work and has been an asset since she joined the company in June 2009.
Stella Leevers – Travel Consultant, Mirrabooka
Stella has worked in the travel industry for 20 years and is an expert in providing knowledge and relevant advise to holiday makers with professionalism.
Like other members of the Mirrabooka team she has a strong personal following that have benefitted from her expertise over the years. Few people in Perth have Stella’s knowledge and understanding of travel to the Middle East – she has arranged and escorted many tours to Egypt including a number for the Western Australian Ancient Egypt Society.
Stella has travelled extensively and is fluent in Italian and Arabic
Barbara Hunt - Cruise Consultant, West Perth
Hello my name is Barb, I have worked in the Travel Industry in various roles for 18 years, and I have worked for OPENSEAS – online cruises for over 1 year and absolutely love it.
I have been on many cruise ships over the years from just day visits, plus from 1992 until 1996 I had the pleasure of working for Cunard onboard the legendary QE2 and Princess Cruises on board the Fair, Royal and Star Princess ships.
CHRISTINA LEONG – TRUST ACCOUNT MANAGER, West Perth
Christina commenced her accounts career in 2002 in the travel industries. And over the years, she has gained and broaden her accounting experience in her career. Over the last few years, she has worked in various roles in different agencies in the accounts department. Currently, she is now based in GTS – West Perth branch since 2007.
She can be described as self motivator with “can do attitude” and is very attentive to detail in accounting issues and produces analytical reports for WA management. She has built a strong relationship with the consultants in solving problems through our back office system.
Janos Pfannenwald – Travel Consultant, West Perth
Born in Hungary, came to Australia in 1965, worked in travel continuously for the last 36 years without changing employers apart from change of ownership of the agencies at the time. This enabled me to build up a regular clientele which appreciated the fact that I am “always” there. All of my commercial accounts started as a personal recommendation from the individual, regular clients.
Lee Van Dongen – Travel Consultant - Cruise Specialist, West Perth
Lee has been in the Travel industry for 4 years now and is a Cruise Specialist. He has been dealing with domestic, International and Cruise bookings. He has travelled extensively through Bali & Australia & Loves Cruising, Having been on the Pacific Pearl April and The Princess Dawn. He has done many Ship Walkovers and is always excited about helping clients plan and book the Cruise of a lifetime.
Other destinations that he has been too include New Zealand, and the South Pacific.
